Fall wish List

There are so many items on my list that I wish to get in the following months, starting this fall season but for now I’m sharing just a few. As the weather starts getting cooler, I’m craving cozy knits and fragrant aromas for when I’m lounging at home (or working, for that matter!), so here I’m sharing just a few of the items I may be purchasing soon. Also, am sooo obsessed with #goldjewelry right now!!

A little polish…

IMG_2532 IMG_2519 IMG_2534 IMG_2533 IMG_2522 IMG_2523 IMG_2558 IMG_2559 IMG_2557 IMG_2555 IMG_2556 IMG_2554 IMG_2553 IMG_2551 IMG_2548 IMG_2547

It’s time to add a little polish. I dunno what it is about fall and winter months but I always feel like polishing up when these seasons come around. Maybe it’s because the year is winding down, new things are coming up and I feel like I need to step up my wardrobe game and look “presentable” for seasonal transitions. Like I’m going on an interview and have to look the part , ha! I also love the fact that fall and winter months allow for me to break out darker colors – dunno why but I have been so into darker colors lately, if you follow me on Instagram, you’ll notice! – maybe it’s because of my mood lately (yes, I’ve been sort of grouch-ola lately), I honestly have no clue what it is.

I showed you guys this vest before but this time I am pairing it with these dark green trousers I found at Marshall’s and I just love how put together they look. I also cinched the vest and I love the way it polishes the rugged look of the vest and highlights the waist. The great thing about these is that they are ankle length and very slimming,  but don’t look tight or feel uncomfortable while on. I love that they are a great transition piece because as you can see, for now I can wear them with strappy sandals,  but come colder weather a bootie is going to look just as good. And you all know that any chance I have to dress up (I am literally always in workout clothes, no lie) I will take it. We took our little one to his check up and I just felt like dressing up and dressing him up as well. Since Marshall’s doesn’t have a shopping site, I have linked similar pants below that you can add to your wardrobe.

What are some pieces you guys are getting for the colder months?!

BB creams and face primers

*Please, please, please!! Excuse my ratchet nails!!! It’s been a busy week!!!

Hi guys!

I had been waiting to share with you guys my slight BB cream obsession because, quite frankly, it is literally the best thing that has happened to the beauty product industry since contouring. I honestly wish this stuff had been in my life 10 years ago. Don’t get me wrong, I love my pressed powder but I buy a pretty expensive brand and even though it lasts me forever, I always try to use less (or sometimes none at all) for when I am just running around town doing errands with the little kiddo because I don’t want to feel too “made up” but don’t want to look like a total hazard. If you want a relaxed, easy breezy, put-together look, BB creams are the way to go.

Another makeup tool that’s generating a lot of buzz are primers. Basically, they are “skin preppers”, setting skin up for makeup or, in this case bb creams so they can perform optimally. They enhance how these products will ultimately look on your skin. Instead of using moisturizer before applying makeup, you can use primers to help even out the look of your makeup and even extend your makeup throughout the day, helping it look a lot fresher.

I have four tried and true favorites that won’t break the bank, are accessible and offer different types of coverage as well as other skin beautifying benefits.

L’oreal Skin Beautifier BB cream : Think of this as the perfect mattifying tool when you want light coverage. This is seriously the holy grail of BB creams. I began using this product a couple of months before becoming pregnant. The first time I applied it I could not believe how amazing my skin looked. Literally flawless. It gives a matte finish and really helps control shine (I have combination skin). The best part: I can sweat like a pig and this stuff keeps my oily skin in check like it’s nobody’s business. Run, don’t walk to get this one. Thank me later.

E.L.F. BB Cream SPF 20 : A little more makeup-y but amazing coverage and feels very luxurious. I like to set it with loose powder because it can make the oily zones in my face a bit more oily but I love the coverage so much I am willing to overlook that. Nothing a little loose powder can’t handle. I love that even though it’s more makeup-y, my skin doesn’t look cake-y or overdone. You just look very put together. I always add in a little bronzer for contouring and it makes my face just glow.

Maybelline Dream Fresh BB cream : This is the lightest of the three. It’s really great for when you just wanna step out for a minute but don’t want to go out of the house looking like a total train-wreck. I usually use this one without applying moisturizer prior to because it is a bit more oily than the other two but I like it for colder months when I want to look put together, still have coverage and feel a little more moisture in my skin. It has SPF 30 integrated so that is a definite plus and brighteners that make skin “pop” really nicely.

E.L.F. Hydrating face primer : I had tried other primers prior to this one but I really love this particular one for my drier areas because it sort of calms the dryness out and makes the bb creams perform that much better, especially the L’oreal and E.L.F brands. My skin feels super silky after I apply it and I prefer it over moisturizer because I don’t have to wait for the product to sink in or dry in order for me to apply makeup. And the best part: It’s only $6.00!!! I mean come on! Who doesn’t love that?

Well you guys, hope this review has been helpful. As always thanks for stopping by and hope you guys find your dream bb cream just like I have (three times over, ha!)

Fall is here! I don’t know why I’m excited about it but I am. This fall season, there are so many trends I can’t wait to try. For some reason, I love cold weather clothing – jackets, sweaters, coats – even though I didn’t grow up exposed to cold weather. I went to college in Pennsylvania and if you’ve ever been there  – or grew up there – you know it gets ridiculously cold. So that was my chance to buy great cold weather clothing. It’s funny I gave it all away after I graduated because I returned back home to Puerto Rico to pursue my master’s and I thought I wouldn’t need those clothes anymore. Such a shame! One fall wardrobe staple I am loving for fall is anything tweed.

Well I am rebuilding my cold weather wardrobe again and starting with this #tweed skirt from Zara. I do apologize for not linking it because I bought last year but I’ll link similar ones below. I was flipping through Instyle magazine the other day and according to them, this style #skirt (mod-like and tweed) is gonna be big for fall. I’m so glad I have this piece around because, as you can see, it can go with several style tops, like I’ve paired it here with this super cute tee from Gap. I love pairing this style skirt with a laid back tee because it kind of relaxes the look a bit. I’d wear this look on a friday at the office with a jean jacket to make it more effortless and cool. When the weather starts getting a little colder (yes I live in Orlando but it gets pretty damn cold here, trust…) I can pair it with a light coat and sweater and some knee high boots. I can’t wait! Fall is all about layering and this skirt is perfect for building a wardrobe with layers.

What pieces are you guys anxious to add to your fall wardrobe? Do share!!

As always, thanks for stopping by!
