What is it about fall colors that brings a certain nostalgia and whimsy. I know I’ve said this before, but fall and winter are my favorite seasons. Don’t get me wrong, summer and spring are great but the aforementioned seasons bring me such joy and happiness. Maybe it’s because everything feels cozier, family members we haven’t seen in a while get together, the year is winding down and new beginnings are near.

In my last post, I showed you guys one of my favorite layering pieces -the denim jacket. This time, I am showing you guys how I like to pair deep dark colors with a lighter layering piece. This skirt is so absolutely reminiscent of fall to me, the colors are like a beautiful sunset during this time of year. I found this cream, linen blazer at Tjmaxx a while back during the summer and hadn’t used it because it was too damn hot, particularly because of the lining inside (it makes you sweat profusely). But now, for fall and winter, it is the perfect layering piece and I find that if I want to look put together this ups the game instantly and polishes any outfit completely. I love this particular look for a friday office look because you can look polished, still feel comfortable and have fun with fall colors. I definitely like to be minimal with accessories when wearing stronger colors like these because I want them to be the center and focus of my outfit. A bracelet, simple earrings or even the chain in your satchel could be a simple accent to tie everything together.

Hope you guys are having fun with your fall outfits as much as I am!
