I have a confession to make: I never imagined I would be one of those moms who would loooove taking their kids to things like pumpkin patches, trick-or-treating or any other kid-centered sort of activity. Don’t get me wrong: I didn’t have anything against them but just the thought of the whole process of such activities mentally drained me and since  I had participated in them before having children and didn’t really see what all the fuss was about. Boy, how things have changed. I had literally been hounding my husband to take us to the pumpkin patch so we finally went this weekend and baby boy was just over the moon with all the pumpkins and roosters and hens and ponies (we went to an equestrian academy type thing) running around. At one point he was trying to chase a hen and I was obviously running after him (you can only imagine this goofy scene). I can’t believe how excited I was to take him there so I can’t even imagine how I’ll be come trick-or-treat time (we bought him the friggin’ cutest costume so get ready for some Lucas overlaod soon haha!).

Anywho, as of now, the weather in Orlando is just throwing me off big time. It’s nice and cool during the early and mid morning but come afternoon it starts getting a bit warmer- and windy! Not really break-out-the-sweaters weather yet. So I had gotten these combat boots a while back and was pretty eager to wear them out because I have only been able to do so once since I got them. I seriously love these because they remind me so much of my teen years and the whole “grunge” days (Nirvana, Pearl Jam…the whole shebang!) when I had my green Doc Martens I would wear with EVERYTHING. They were just so badass. But now, it’s obviously different so my feeling with these types of boots is that you can soften them a bit by wearing them with boho pieces like this Forever 21 top (SOLD OUT!) and simple skinny jeans from Banana Republic. You can still look semi-badass but softened up ha! FYI these jeans are gonna be in heavy rotation in my wardrobe because they are the perfect cut of skinny for boot wearing, particularly, and cute flats. Right now, the weather is warm enough to wear them with sandals, even. But since it is fall, I would much rather prefer the boots ‘-) .

Well, thanks so much for stopping by and can’t wait to share the upcoming holidays (virtually) with you all!

Xoxo,

Raquel
